There are several ways in which bail bounds can make money. The Denver bail bounds resource knows everything about them. Here is a small overview:
- Cash deposit. The funds will be withheld by the court until the defendant appears at all court hearings and the case is completed.
- It is provided by an insurance company (agent) that has sufficient assets to meet the nominal value of the obligation. The defendant is charged a premium in favor of the insurance company. The agent has a financial interest in supervising the mortgagees and ensuring their appearance in court.
- Property pledge. If the defendant does not appear in court, the court may impose a penalty on his/her property in order to receive the confiscated bail amount.
In each specific case, it is possible to use one of the options above.
